Welcome to Newport Running Camp 2008
The 23rd Edition of the Newport
Running Camp will be held for the
second straight year at the scenic
campus of
Portsmouth Abbey School,
just a short ride from historic Newport, Rhode Island. Using Bill Dellinger’s
Oregon System, the Newport Running Camp provides individual as well as team
training.

It is our goal to provide a program
that is friendly to runners of all
ages and abilities. Campers will
learn how to visualize and
mentally develop a mind set for
achieving outstanding performances
within an individual and team
framework. |
Besides Coach Dellinger, athletes will be schooled by students of Coach Dellinger:
- Director Pete Squires (Manhattan College, All-American)
- Pat Tyson, (Oregon Graduate / Prefontaine roommate)
- Steve McChesney (Oregon Graduate / Legendary coach at Newton South
Massachusetts)
- Matt Centrowitz (Oregon Graduate / American Record holder 5,000 meters / two-time
Olympian)
- Nick Rogers (Oregon Graduate / 13:18 5K / Olympian 2000)
- Joan Benoit Samuelson (Olympic Gold Medallist)
- A host of other Olympians and legendary coaches, as well as nationally
acclaimed high school cross country coaches.
